This course is designed for musicians currently working in world-music genres who want to gain skills and accreditation to help them get work in schools. Delegates will be trained as an Arts Award Adviser and will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding for delivering their world-music genre in the classroom. Using our Indonesian gamelan, Caribbean steel pans, West African drums, Brazilian samba instruments or Indian dhols, delegates will gain an understanding of how these genres are taught in their home cultures and how Inspire-works have developed workshop material suitable for schools workshops yet remaining true to the musical genre.

Our beautiful venue for our summer 2019 training course is set in the middle of the 4,800 acre Windsor Great Park with views of Windsor Castle and surrounded by centuries old oak trees, the Great Park has a royal history dating back to pre-Saxon times. Windsor Great Park is locally known as ‘the Queen’s back garden’ and the York Club is a members only club for residents and employees of The Crown Estate. Newly refurbished in 2019, we are thrilled to be able to use this venue for the Certified World-Music Facilitator Training Course!
Accommodation is not included in this course. The closest towns are Windsor (3.5 miles) and Ascot (4 miles) both of which have plenty of hotels & B&B’s to suit all budgets.
