New YouTube Shorts Playlist Empowers Teachers to Bring Classroom Percussion to Life
Launch at London West Music Hub Conference, 2 October 2025, ENO Colosseum

Inspire-Works is proud to announce the launch of an innovative new YouTube Shorts playlist designed especially for educators: Classroom Percussion YouTube #Shorts. The resource will make its debut at the London West Music Hub Conference, held on 2 October 2025 at the English National Operaโ€™s Colosseum.

This playlist is a concise, practical video collection showing classroom-friendly percussion ideas, rehearsal techniques and rhythmic starters. Each Short (under 3 minutes) gives teachers a quick snapshot of how to introduce, model and scaffold classroom percussion in everyday lessonsโ€”whether creating music inspired by different cultures around the world or creating musical effects for programme music or storytelling.

Why this resource matters

  • It meets the real-world constraints of busy teachers: bite-sized, clear, and instantly usable.

  • It supports inclusive music-making: it uses commonly found classroom percussion instruments and it can scale to large or small classes.

  • It fills a gap between written resources and full-length video tutorials by giving micro-lessons that teachers can revisit as needed.

Conference launch at ENO Colosseum
On 2 October, delegates at the London West Music Hub Conference will attend a live demonstration of the playlist, embedded in a practical session led by Inspire-Works Musical Director Mike Simpson. Attendees will also receive a take-away QR code linking directly to the Shorts playlist for immediate use and shareability.

How schools and music hubs can benefit

  • Embed the Shorts into CPD sessions, staff inset days or departmental rehearsals

  • Use snippets as warm-up starters or mini-refresher prompts during class

  • Encourage students to create their own Shorts in responseโ€”promoting ownership and creativity

  • Share widely across school networks, social media or hub platforms

Access and licensing
The playlist is publicly available on the Inspire-Works YouTube channel (youtube.com/inspireworksUK) free of charge. Schools and hubs are invited to reuse, adapt and share the content under a Creative Commons (non-commercial) licence (full licence terms to be published).
