Our facilitators are passionate about working with Early Years Foundation Stage children and their families. We deliver fun and creative music and movement workshops in nurseries, children's centres and private, voluntary or independent (PVIs) settings which adhere to the standards set in the EYFS Framework. Our EYFS workshops support the following areas of learning & development:

  • Personal, social and emotional development 

  • Understanding the world 

  • Expressive arts and design 

All our facilitators are experienced EYFS practitioners and provide enough authentic world instruments for everyone to be involved in each workshop.

African Beats

Aimed at 0-5 year olds

Everyone is included in this fun and interactive workshop! The facilitator, acting as the Griot (West African Story-teller), draws everyone into the traditional West African story by involving them as characters in the story playing authentic West African djembe drums and impersonating various West African animals. Music and humour are central to this workshop as the participants discover the surprising origin of djembe drums and are an essential part of the action throughout!


We will provide

  • A facilitator who is experienced working with EYFS

  • Enough authentic West African drums for up to 30 participants


Access and space requirements

This workshop requires:

  • A parking place for our vehicle as close to the venue as possible

  • A hall or large teaching room (preferably on the ground floor) with a cleared space

  • Access to the space 45 minutes prior to the first session and 30 minutes after the last session to set up and pack away


Suggested length of sessions & recommended group sizes

 

30 minutes per group of 15-30 children (plus their families/carers).

Take me to Rio!

Aimed at 3-5 year olds and families/carers

Music, movement and costumes are central to this workshop that includes a traditional Brazilian story involving a menagerie of exotic animals from the Amazon! It’s not long before everyone is playing authentic samba instruments and moving to the infectious latin beat whilst discovering how Basilio the Brazilian beetle and his animal friends influenced the design of the Brazilian flag!

  • Enough authentic Brazilian samba instruments for up to 30 participants and a selection of carnival costumes/headdresses and puppets

Caribbean carnival!

Aimed at 3-5 year olds and families/carers

The Caribbean spirit is brought to life in this workshop with everyone playing steel pans, bongos and maracas and even doing the limbo dance! Find out how the Caribbean parrots were desperate to sing as beautifully as the other birds and how the king of the forest changed their lives forever by making them talk. Everyone can join the carnival celebration!


We will provide

  • Enough steel pans and percussion instruments for up to 30 participants

  • A hall or large teaching room (preferably on the ground floor) with a cleared space

Gong gang!

Aimed at 3-5 year olds

Gongs, drums, metallophones and shadow puppets create an exotic atmosphere for this workshop! The facilitator acts as the Dalang (shadow puppeteer) whilst the children play authentic Indonesian gamelan instruments to accompany the humorous traditional Indonesian folktale involving geckos, macaque monkeys and birds.


We will provide

  • A facilitator who is experienced working with EYFS

  • Enough authentic Indonesian gamelan instruments for up to 15 participants and a selection of Indonesian shadow puppets


Access and space requirements

  • A parking place for our van/car as close to the venue as possible

  • A hall or large teaching room (preferably on the ground floor) with a cleared space

  • Access to the space 1 hour prior to the first session and 45 minutes after the last session to set up and pack away
